2 common mistakes that will keep you FAT!

In today’s article I am going to bust 2 major myths about getting abs… I figure that nearly everyone wants to lose inches off their waist and there are tons of philosophies out there that claim to be the revolutionary secret… But in reality these two methods will do more harm than good for your quest of getting a ripped body and six pack abs.
The Captain is not a Crunch
I know I have said a thousand times before, but crunches really are one of the most inefficient exercises out there. They do nothing to burn fat. You are essentially taking the long way to build up muscles that will never show because they are hidden under a layer of stubborn belly fat. This will more or less increase your waistline instead of decreasing it.
To get rid of that layer of belly fat that is preventing your abs from showing you will need to do the right exercises in the right quantity. Here are some great examples of effective abdominal routines that don’t include any crunches…
As you can see all of these example are very effective when it comes to burning calories and also are activating the core throughout the routine without ever doing a crunch.

I know that you guys have heard me talk about how ineffective running for countless hours on a treadmill is for losing belly fat and getting a ripped body… However you can still get s cardio workout in while you are in the weight room.
Here are some suggestions of how you can burn the maximum amount of calories while lifting weights…
• Keep rest times under 30 seconds in between sets
• Always superset 2 to 3 exercises, working complimentary muscle groups
• One power lift during every workout day. (Bench, squats, deadlifts, Turkish get ups)
This is not to say that you aren’t burning calories while lifting weights regularly, however using these aerobic weight lifting tips will really make sure you are ramping up your heart beat and get your body working for you burning off excess body fat.
